Tasty Pasta Bake

Ingredients

For 4 people

Béchamel:

Butter 25g

Flour 40g

Milk 300ml

Nutmeg A sprinkle

Salt A sprinkle

Pasta bake:

Tortiglioni or fusilli pasta 350g

Sausages 200g

Tomato passata 400g

Mozzarella 200g

Grated parmesan cheese 40g

Fine chopped onion ½ (half)

Extra virgin olive oil 3 spoons

Rock salt A handful


Method

1. Put the olive oil in a pan and add the half onion. Let cook for about 10 minutes.

2. Remove the skin from the sausages and crumble them into the pan.

3. Add the tomato passata, stir and cover it. Let it cook for an hour, stirring every once in a while, adding half glass of water the sauce becomes too dry.

4. In the meantime, prepare the béchamel sauce. You can find all the steps here: https://cookingwithalice.wixsite.com/website/post/béchamel-sauce-besciamella

5. When the sausage sauce is ready, add the béchamel and stir everything together.

6. In another pan, boil water and add rock salt. Cook the pasta for about 4 minutes less than what’s suggested on the package (as it will cook in the oven).

7. Add the pasta to the sausage sauce and add the mozzarella chopped in cubes, but keep a few on the side to add at the end. Stir everything together.

8. Pour everything in a baking tray and put the grated cheese and the leftover mozzarella cubes on top.

9. Cook in a preheated oven at 180° for about 25 minutes.
